Developing Leaders Day
For almost six decades now AIESEC, as an international organization
has recognized leadership potential in young people as a key success
factor for development of new and positive society, able to fulfill
al human potentials. Our endeavors in that direction have resulted
with numerous exchange programs and educational conferences and
other education programs. Although, in the first years it was
quite a struggle, today we recognize AIESEC members on numerous
important leadership positions Worldwide. We strive to impact
the society in general, and young people in particular, to develop
themselves and others and nourish the leadership potential we
all have, all in the interest of our common better future.
Today, developing leadership on a global level is an important
challenge for both the society and the business world. AIESEC
is committed to developing socially responsible leaders capable
to reliably act in all of the social fields. We try to activate
positive leadership in young people, thus giving its contribution
to the "fight" for one better world.
"Developing Leaders Day" is an all-day interactive management
training program. AIESEC and its education partners have, for
the better part of the century, provided young people with adequate
management and leadership skills, and we find that this event
is a crown jewel in our all-year round education program. By this
event we try to provide the leaders of youth worldwide with knowledge
they need in order to transfer the vision and values of responsibility
and life long learning in leadership and management. We focus
on transferring knowledge as one of the key aspects of quality
leadership, aiming to adequately “equip” the delegates so they
can, once back in their countries, transfer this skills and know-how
to their co-workers multiplying the education effect in that way.
Potential topics among many others include accelerated learning,
advanced creativity, planning, personal effectiveness, and instructing
and passing the knowledge onto others. By focusing on these issues
we consider to have identified the crucial or sine qua non factors
for development of positive leadership focused on knowledge, learning
and transfer of knowledge. We aim to improve the potential of
young people to act as agents of change in their organizations
of future companies.
Special emphasis will be put on the leadership in business world
and participants will have a chance to understand social, cultural
and business challenges that leaders of the biggest world companies
are dealing with. Moreover, we will try to emphasis the importance
of understanding the connection between cultural diversity and
leadership positions in multicultural companies and organizations. |
