What is AIESEC?

The world's largest student organization, AIESEC is a global network of 50,000 members across more than 85 countries and territories at over 800 universities worldwide.

AIESEC facilitates the international exchange of thousands of students and recent graduates each year. Whether in a paid traineeship or as a volunteer for a non-profit organization, their experiences abroad will undoubtedly affect them forever.

Behind everything we do is our mission: to contribute to the development of our countries and their people with an overriding commitment to international understanding and co-operation.

Over the years AIESEC has evolved into something that is spirited with endless energy. We, the young people who run this organization have a hope for something better in the world, and this is a hope that AIESEC tempers with a practical approach.

Our Identity

Our Name
AIESEC. Formerly an French acronym for "Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales". Today, we no longer use this acronym as our membership has grown to encompass a much wider range of disciplines than only economics and commerce, and our Role in society and the Core Work we do are reflected more accurately below.

Our Nature
AIESEC is an international, non-political, non-profit, student-run, independent, educational foundation. It is comprised of students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education who are interested in economics and management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of race, colours, sex, sexual orientation, creed, Religion, national or ethnic origin.
